Maharashtra run-out

About 500 players were playing their usual games of cricket on what they thought was a disused runway at Solapur airport in Maharashtra, India, in 2006 when an Air Deccan passenger plane attempted to make an emergency landing after developing a fault. The pilot flew low over the strip twice as a warning, but the games continued. The players only scattered when the plane actually landed and skidded to halt with no reported injuries.
