THE West Indies have confirmed they will tour Zimbabwe from Nov 27 to Dec 10, playing for five one-day matches before travelling on to South Africa for their full tour of three Tests, five ODIs and two Twenty20 internationals.
The decision to proceed with Zimbabwe was based on a favourable report from an independent security firm. The West Indies Players’ Association and West Indies Cricket Board indicated that the situation would be monitored for safety, security and food integrity. There seems no specific danger, though South African provincial sides have been harassed by food shortages and general inconvenience.
The tour will be preceded by a training camp at the High Performance Centre at the Cave Hill campus of University of the West Indies in Barbados from Nov 11-22.
